Grime kicks: Skepta x Nike Air Max 97\/BW<\/h2>\n

The Skepta x Nike Air Max 97\/BW<\/strong> represents the second piece of a Swoosh collection of projects for the Grime rapper. Skepta has had some experience with Nike<\/strong> in the past.<\/p>\n

The Air Max 97<\/strong><\/a> was his point of focus at that point, taking to it with a dark color scheme that came with a slight Bronze glow. This time around, he stays with the 97 as the subject of this collaborative drop. Well, kind of.<\/p>\n

Instead of focusing on the 97 by itself, Skepta this time takes another classic – but less recognized – model and brings them both together. In the style of the Sean Wotherspoon iteration, we saw this past Air Max Day, this release combines the AM 97 with the BW model.<\/p>\n

The upper here is all about the Air Max BW, representing that rather simplistic form this classic model comes with. The bottom of the shoe boasts the Air Max 97’s full-length Air unit, giving the shoe an entirely unique look.<\/p>\n

The shoe’s swoosh details come in Blue and Red, alternating between each shoe. The color is supposed to be a shoutout to the French flag as this release is inspired by Paris, a city that is important to Skepta.<\/p>\n

The choice to go with the AM 97 bottom is also very intentional in terms of its backstory. Back when he was a kid, footwear was all about boasting how big the Air bubble on your feet was.<\/p>\n

The BW is a favorite of Skepta’s and he wanted to give it even more of the iconic Air cushioning. The result is a pretty remarkable addition to this year’s trove of fused Nike sneakers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Appropriately, Nike and Skepta released these beauties in Paris during a special party. Here in Spain, Foot District Family, Friends, and Followers, couldn’t wait to get their hands on them and, on May 19th, raffle winners in store and online (around the world) had the chance to acquire a pair of their own.
