adidas struck gold the minute they decided to throw Boost cushioning onto what feels like every model in their catalog. Even some of the older, more nostalgic releases have come back from the proverbial dead with a healthy helping of Boost. The strategy has taken the Three Stripes to new heights.<\/p>\n

The Arkyn follows along quite nicely with the adidas approach to sneaker design for the last few years. Namely, taking inspiration from older models and giving them the modern work-up. The upper here comes in a one-piece build.<\/p>\n
The base layer on the Arkyn is in a mesh, rather than the knit construction we’re so used to seeing from adidas models at this point. Yet, there’s great potential for a truly one-to-one fit in this sneaker.<\/p>\n
Supporting that effort is a helping of lateral TPU caging, accompanied by a closure-style lacing set-up. Of course, the super thick chunk of Boost on the midsole is also a big part of this.<\/p>\n
Towards the heel area, the midsole actually extends beyond the shoe, making for one heck of a memorable visual. The look itself might not come across as terribly original, but that’s only because models such as the Ultra Boost<\/a><\/strong> and NMD<\/strong><\/a> have been crushing the game for quite some time now.<\/p>\n With that being said, the additions of the lateral caging and unique lacing make these bad boys worth a look, at the very least.
