Vans x Metallica<\/h2>\n

The crew over at Vans<\/a><\/strong> are at it again, celebrating yet another giant of pop culture. This time, they get together with Metallica<\/a> for a special collection, including iterations of classic silhouettes and more.<\/p>\n

There are few choices for collabs that would be better than Metallica (I mean, I can’t really name any better options, but you get my point).<\/p>\n

The band’s presence in the Hall of Fame and their multiple Grammy wins is just part of a rich tradition, celebrated here on the Vans x Metallica collection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The sneakers at the heart of this release are the Sk8-Hi<\/strong><\/a> and Slip-On models. For its part, the Sk8-Hi is decked out in a rich leather, dipped in a glossy Black color scheme. That same dark tone accompanies the Slip-On model as well, making it the main thematic color choice here.<\/p>\n

We also see good use of Metallica’s new logo. While the Sk8-Hi boasts this graphic as a wrap-around on the heel portion, the Slip-On model rocks the logo on the toe-box area. It’s just about the only contrast on an otherwise all-black collection<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to the footwear, we also get some extras in the way of a t-shirt and hat. Each sports the aggressive Metallica logo fluidly. The sharp lines and familiar angles of this branding are quite versatile. In fact, the Metallica logo really only needs a fairly dark background to adequately stand out.<\/p>\n

This collection is an appropriate shout out to one of the most iconic bands of all time. Their time spent on the peak of charts has added up into an incredible run in the music world. Metallica’s work has also been spotlighted for its counterculture style, making a project with Vans especially appropriate.<\/p>\n

Dressing the Sk8-Hi in a leather coating is a nice touch, giving it the sort of look Metallica fans would be pretty comfortable with. That being said, the Slip-On is best left to its canvas base, giving you something more visual to feast on.<\/p>\n
