First of all, we would like you to introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My name is Thierry Tek, some people know me as T.McFly<\/a>, I\u2019m the co-founder of Visionarism<\/a> and I\u2019m a fashion and footwear enthusiast. I was born and raised in Paris (France), and I\u2019ve moved to London (UK) 4 years ago.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. What do you see as the present outlook of sneakers? And fashion, in general?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like many others from my generation would tell you, the sneaker game has changed a lot over the last 5-10 years. I\u2019m part of that \u201cin-between\u201d generation that learned from the OG heads, and who saw the new kids bringing their wave to the community. I remember how things were and how it was more about knowledge and longevity, with different individuals with unique taste going after different products\/silhouettes\/brands. Now everything is about hype and nothing seems to last for long. Social media played a major role in this change, as information is a lot more accessible, and brands know how to manipulate the consumer and amplify their marketing. Nowadays, whatever you know, everybody else does too. It makes it slightly less exciting, as I used have to try find information online, on various forums, or ask certain people I knew, to dig out information about upcoming releases. But it is what it is, we all got to adapt and understand how the game is played today. Same goes for fashion in general.<\/p>\n

2. What are sneakers to you? What is your collection based on?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sneakers<\/a> are part of my lifestyle, and part of who I am. As I grew up, I discovered new interests and hobbies, left some behind, but one thing that has never left is my passion for sneakers. More than just about how they look on feet, I thoroughly enjoy history, materials, shape, and all details behind a pair of sneakers. It\u2019s not just an addiction; it\u2019s a real hobby. An expensive one\u2026 The best ones are! (laughs)<\/p>\n

Regarding my collection, it\u2019s hard to say. I own quite a lot of sneakers, from basketball, running, tennis, to skate shoes. I\u2019d say that overall, about 50% of them are basketball shoes. My favourite silhouette of all time has to be the Nike Air Force 1<\/strong><\/a>, but I also own quite a few Air Jordan<\/strong><\/a> 1s and Puma Suedes<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. What is VISIONARISM? Who is working on it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visionarism is a creative agency specialized in digital content creation (photography \/ videography), and an online platform, which displays our previous works and projects, and lifestyle\/fashion\/footwear<\/strong><\/a> related news. Me and my business partner, decided to put our skills, knowledge and network together, to create Visionarism just over a year ago. We\u2019ve worked with numerous fashion and sportswear brands<\/strong><\/a>, from all around the world, and we want to expand. Our team currently counts the two of us, as well as a project manager and a business development manager. Then we work with a portfolio of talented creatives who understand our style and vision.<\/p>\n

4. Do you consider yourself a collector?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cCollector\u201d is a big word. I have accumulated a lot of sneakers over the years but I wouldn\u2019t consider myself a collector, as I wear everything I own. I don\u2019t put anything on display or behind glass cabinet. However, I do take care of my shoes very well! (laughs)<\/p>\n

5. Vintage or current …what do you prefer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like a mix of both. Vintage is full of history and reminds me of moments of my childhood. But seeing what brands can bring out in terms of innovation and design is always a good thing for me.<\/p>\n

6. What music (genre) do you put on when you’re tying your favorite sneaks?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I used to bboy when I was younger, so hip hop has always influenced the way I dress, and the shoes I wear. However, I still listen to many other genre of music. It just all depends on my mood.<\/p>\n

7. What are your favorite brands and style?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In terms of clothing in general, there are many brands I like such as Supreme, Maharishi<\/strong><\/a>, A.P.C, Acne, Aime Leon Dore<\/strong><\/a>, and John Elliott. Then of course you have the sportswear brands that I will always be into, like Nike, Puma, Asics<\/a>, adidas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a simple guy, I like simple things, so regarding style, what I like is quite hard to describe. I\u2019d say a mix of streetwear with casual, just like who I am. For me personally, style is really about staying true to who you are.<\/p>\n

8. City? Food?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was born and raised in Paris but I\u2019ve got to say that London is my favourite city in the world. I\u2019ve travelled to many places but London is special. You can never get bored of London, there is always something going on and it feels like you can make anything happen here. Also, if you know me a little bit, you know I\u2019m a big foodie, and London has everything you want in terms of food. 9. Any upcoming, interesting projects?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year, I am really focusing on growing Visionarism, and those who have been supporting us since day one won\u2019t be disappointed. We have a few projects in the pipeline and can\u2019t wait to share them with you.<\/p>\n

10. What do you see for yourself in the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really don\u2019t know. I have dreams and goals in my mind, but things keep changing, and with the lifestyle I live, you never know what can happen in 5 or 10 years. Before I moved to London, I didn\u2019t know that Visionarism would come to life. So I\u2019m just going to carry on working hard, and get excited to see what\u2019s coming next.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
