Plain and simple, the brand wanted to crush the trainers game with some iconic pieces. Their previous offerings were solid enough, but the R1 was the statement sneaker of Three Stripes dominance. This Tactile Green iteration carries that trend right along.

It’s about as Fall-ready as a sneaker can get. This Green iteration makes good use of the R1’s Primeknit upper, rocking an almost minty finish. This is also yet another successful instance of dipping the Boost midsole in some colour. The midsole plugs are also coated with the same darker Green, giving the whole section a monochromatic look. Of course, you also get your standard features on this model, including a moulded TPU heel as well as Three Stripes lateral branding in a similar build.

You’re going to start seeing more and more NMD’s on your daily commutes. In fact, it’s a good bet that the R1 will be the one you see the most. With several color options to go with, you’ll definitely want to scoop up a pair for yourself before they become a distant memory of adidas’s dominance.

The NMD R1 arguably represents that peak moment when we all knew adidas wasn’t playing around.
