1976<\/strong>: running brands are head to head in the beginning of a huge fight to be the first in innovation. Then, Nike surprised them all with the Nike LD-1000,<\/strong> the first sneaker to feature a nylon mesh upper<\/strong> which improved flexibility and lightweight.<\/p>\n

The acronym \u201cLD<\/strong>\u201d (Long Distance), means they were designed for long distance running. The number \u201c1000<\/strong>\u201d meant they were intended for athletes that run over 1000 miles a year.<\/p>\n

Following their style, Nike<\/strong> took this classic model and updated it with a superb result: the Nike Roshe LD-1000.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The shape of the upper<\/strong> is not altered, adding to the vintage<\/strong> essence of the model. The materials are the ones from the original model too: nylon mesh<\/strong> and suede. Meanwhile, the swoosh is made of leather.<\/p>\n

The Natural Motion sole<\/strong> takes care of bringing the model up to date. Originally from the Roshe One NM<\/strong>, it features Free technology<\/strong> on the foremost part of the sneaker, and turns the Nike Roshe LD-1000<\/strong> into a very comfortable model.<\/p>\n
