In CAP3, we follow the journey of Julia de Castro, and it proves just as difficult.

Julia arrives at FOOTDISTRICT Madrid after putting the finishing touches to her first solo exhibition, La ausencia es la obra. The journey here is a familiar one: in Valverde, the neighbourhood where FOOTDISTRICT Madrid is located, the luthier who used to tune her violin had his workshop.

A life between disciplines

The violin and the exhibition might seem like two distant poles, but Julia de Castro’s life is full of unexpected connections. Her journey moves from classical theatre to performance, from music to cinema. During the conversation, we talk about her best-known role as an actress, but also about her other facets: historian, sound designer, cuplet singer and film director.

CAP3 of FOOTNOTES follows these leaps between disciplines, trying to uncover what lies behind Julia de Castro’s zigzags.
