Breakdancing crews and early rap pioneers, like Run-DMC, adopted the shoe as part of their signature look\u2014worn without laces and with the tongue exposed.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Run-DMC’s influence<\/strong> was so significant that in 1986, they released the song “My Adidas”<\/strong>, a tribute to the sneaker that culminated in a historic deal with the brand.
