Puma and PLEASURES collaborate in a project that FOOTDISTRICT describes as an investigation into the relationship between speed and time.
The idea of speed conjures up vivid pictures and a feeling of loss of control. Time has different roles depending on the situation; it can be an ally when things go well or it can be unscrupulous when more is required. Time is both a speed judge and an involved party. The clock as a companion or a witness.
The creative concept for Puma and PLEASURES’ presentation in FOOTDISTRICT is based on the relationship between time and speed. the necessity of success-driven haste and the destruction of time when it is not the only objective. The centerpiece is a shoe with a history of speed that combines tales of athletic speed from the Puma Complete saga of the first decade of the then-new millennium, a period of cutting-edge technologies.
The VELOPHASIS is inspired by that heritage and updates the Y2K style with asymmetry and textured panels to which PLEASURES applies a dyeing process, a color treatment that also reaches the midsole giving it a pre-worn look, a DIY inspired touch that comes directly from subcultures, a major influence of PLEASURES.
The Puma x PLEASURES Velophasis Overdyed will be released on June 24th.
