The official launch of our collaboration, the adidas Firebird x FSTVL B x FOOTDISTRICT, deserved a presentation worthy of the occasion, and we experienced it in a night unfolding in two acts. First at FOOTDISTRICT Barcelona and then at Socis Club, with NUSAR3000 setting the rhythm for the evening. Dim lights, deep bass, and shadows moving in sync with the music.

The event became a ritual of community: friends, creators, and music lovers shared a space where energy was felt in every corner. The exclusive Firebird versions, “String” and “Keys”, connected the city’s aesthetic with the intensity of the sound, acting as the thread that tied the experience together.

The party functioned as a live activation of the collaboration, as well as a preview of FSTVL B—a space where music and community transformed every moment into something that resonated beyond the stage. The Firebird, once again, became a symbol of style and culture in motion.

Now, adidas Originals, FSTVL B, and FOOTDISTRICT join forces to release a special edition that reinvents the Firebird through the creative vision of the local duo Totxres.

Totxres infuses the jacket with the energy of FSTVL B, the Barcelona festival setting trends in alternative sounds and musical experiences. Two exclusive versions—one featuring guitars and the other keyboards—transform the Firebird into a canvas that connects adidas’ sporting heritage with the city’s vibrant music scene.

Every detail radiates movement, color, and festival spirit. The Firebird jacket reflects a city that beats to the rhythm of music, a festival culture that inspires style, and a collaboration that celebrates live culture. Under the motto “Keep on listening live music,” adidas, FSTVL B, and FOOTDISTRICT invite everyone to keep music alive, explore new vibes, and take the festival beyond the stage.

This limited edition Firebird Adicolor, available in the two versions “Strings” and “Keys”, shows how a jacket can capture not only aesthetic but also the very essence of music that defines generations.

There are many reasons to celebrate, one of which is the first collaboration between FOOTDISTRICT and ScrapWorld. For the first time, two essential names in the local scene presented a joint collection inspired by a conversation between the traditional and the avant-garde.

On the first occasion that ScrapWorld was looking for new locations, we chose the FOOTDISTRICT Barcelona store to act as hosts on the night before the event. And, of course, to showcase the collaboration in which traditional and new contemporary languages are mixed in a cap and a vase, two pieces of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps.

The creators of ScrapWorld, byCalitos, Miguel Antón, and Juan Villegas, who are partners with FOOTDISTRICT in this collaboration, were present at the collection’s presentation, along with Alex Chiner, Álex Tous Pont, Andy Wak, Claire Hepburn, Pau Joanmiquel, or Abril Ruiz. The music was provided by _Gideo and Rata.deinternet while Deleito showed us that the debate between the artisan and the contemporary is also present in hamburgers. The collaboration of FOOTDISTRICT and ScrapWorld at the center of a celebration that was also the birthday of both brands.

Friends, a good atmosphere, and a central theme, that of the traditional and the contemporary, were all present at the presentation of the newly available collection.

ScrapWorld is celebrating five years since its inception as an event organiser for trends, sneakers, and music. Since then, it has expanded and developed into a brand that represents the trajectories of the future. In 2023, FOOTDISTRICT will mark ten years as a leader in global retail, and to mark the occasion, it will host various activations and partnerships. Over this period, ScrapWorld and FOOTDISTRICT have expanded concurrently, collaborated, and combined their references.

Friends gather to celebrate anniversaries, and ScrapWorld and FOOTDISTRICT wanted to join forces to celebrate with a partnership centred around the idea of craftsmanship—a concept that is often associated with tradition but that in this collection raises questions about its beginnings and destiny.

Rather than confronting tradition with the urban, the collaboration between FOOTDISTRICT & ScrapWorld explores how new creations can become traditions and how craftsmanship can be incorporated into trends. Graffiti updates the idea of craftsmanship since it is a handmade element that makes each piece unique.

The collaboration FOOTDISTRICT x ScrapWorld reflects the contrasts between traditional art and contemporary urban languages in order to discover their parallels. Pieces from both worlds are combined in the collection. This union of opposites—tradition, or craftsmanship—and graffiti, or a new craft on the verge of tradition, is explained by the vase. Crafted locally using traditional methods, the ring is designed along the lines of vintage American professional sports rings. The T-shirts and sweatshirts in the collection, ironically, function as traditional merchandise. The cap encourages you to put yourself in the shoes of an artisan and create one-of-a-kind products with the patches commemorating the collaboration and anniversary of FOOTDISTRICT and ScrapWorld. A commitment to combine craftsmanship and urban spirit.

The collaboration will be available in the FOOTDISTRICT Barcelona shop from 24 November and from 28 November in FOOTDISTRICT Madrid, FOOTDISTRICT Barcelona and online.

It’s a B-movie-ish evil plan for world domination, starting at FOOTDISTRICT and threatening to turn the universe into a place of memes, pixels, and irreverence, where the game is as important as the result.

For their first collaboration, MARKET and FOOTDISTRICT have created a collection where, instead of turning their items into balanced examples of joint work, they let themselves go, get contaminated, and mix together. FOOTDISTRICT understands that this should be the very essence of a collaborative effort: a learning experience that doesn’t end at the design table, leading us to an ambitious plan to dominate the universe.

This December we are pleased to announce the release of “Ready for good luck”, our new capsule collection alongside New Era, the first in a series of collaborations to commemorate our 10th anniversary. A collection that acts as a reminder of this new phase, that new age that means having overcome the 10-year barrier. 

This unforgettable collaboration with the famous New York brand consists of a Varsity jacket and two models of the popular 9FIFTY caps, items that stand out for their deep symbolism. The inspiration for this collection? The concept of time, destiny, and of course, the future. 

Tradition, modernity… and the wheel of fortune

Over the last ten years, we have proved that we leave nothing to chance, but we meditate and carefully plan every step of our path. 

Our combination of traditional values and the latest media and techniques have proven to be the formula for success, since we have been awarded two consecutive years as one of the fastest growing companies in Europe by the Financial Times. This fusion of tradition and modernity has been translated to the materials chosen for the garments of this collection: a perfect combination of traditional tweed fabric with the more technological touch of nylon. 

This new phase we embark on spins the “wheel of fortune” again —which is magically represented by the 10th card of the tarot, symbolizing the eternal cycle of life, evolution, change and chance. These elements transport us to the duality between destiny and free will that so often, when undertaking a new project or cycle, makes us question what role luck plays and what is in our hands.

A brilliant concept in two iconic streetwear pieces

“Ready for good luck” is the perfect example of translating a brilliant concept into two mythical streetwear garments: the Varsity jacket and the cap, undisputed icons of urban culture. 

For those unfamiliar with the concept, the name “Varsity” is nothing more than the abbreviation of “University.” This piece therefore represents the vivid image of youth, community and the reinforcement of belonging to values. In addition, the medieval origin of this institution connects us with the imaginary of the tarot card that inspires the collection and decorates this garment: the wheel of fortune and the three beings that appear around it.

As it could not be otherwise, this collaboration with New Era brings us the most recognizable article of the New York brand: the cap. This accessory has been essential in street culture since the 80s and 90s, when it was worn by the most outstanding figures of hip hop. Hence, and due to its strong symbolism, it could not be missed from the collection. The upper part of the cap brings us back to the concept of the tarot card, thanks to its six-spoke “wheel”, in which luck stops in a single panel, symbolizing the strings of destiny. This concept is enhanced by the broken line, which illustrates the herringbone pattern of the tweed fabric, representing the crown of the character placed on the card. 

Playing the cards again

This 10th anniversary marks the closure of the decade in which the game began. Now a new game begins and the bet is still up.

“Ready for good luck” refers us through its common elements to the representation of cycles and the inherent randomness of life. The risk that arises from the vision of someone who intends to create oneself, who does not have a predetermined life.

At FOOTDISTRICT we want to continue playing this game, at least another 10 years. And although it is the game itself the one that dictates how to play the next move, we will always be “ready for good luck”.

FOOTDISTRICT has found the perfect ally for the rainy season in K-Way, a collaboration that uses the French brand’s technical knowledge to connect the retailer’s two physical spaces in Madrid and Barcelona.

K-WAY was founded on a Parisian idea, but its influence has spread far and wide, making lightweight, comfortable, waterproof, and foldable jackets a universal symbol of functionality, protection, and style. The use of ultra-lightweight, easy-to-fold fabrics in K-WAY’s design allows the garment to fold in on itself. Its functionality is what allowed it to become a street symbol.

A FOOTDISTRICT team travelled to Turin, where the brand’s archives are now located, to learn about the brand’s history and to try to recover part of its legacy through colour.

Water serves as a metaphor for the functionality of K-Way. Because water is not only a threat to be avoided, but it is also an ally. The same factor that separates also promotes closeness. This collaboration resulted in one of their historic outerwear garments, the K-Way Le Vrai 3.0 Claude, named after the original garment’s creator, Léon-Claude Duhamel, in 1965.

This new edition employs colour blocks as symbols of Madrid and Barcelona. The asymmetrical design, with a grey sleeve representing Madrid and a golden sleeve representing Barcelona, pays homage to the essence of the two cities while emphasising their contrast. On the hood, the graphic design studio Wete Studio’s interpretation of the FOOTDISTRICT image.

On the functional front, the jacket incorporates all of the features we have come to expect from the iconic Le Vrai 3.0 Claude, such as the unisex design with regular fit, the water-repellent and windproof material, the heat-sealed cover to prevent water from entering, and the tricolour zip, a true brand icon.

The limited edition FOOTDISTRICT and K-Way will be available from 19 October 2019 at FOOTDISTRICT.

Kappa’s association with football began in 1978 with a partnership with Juventus and continued for the next four decades with continuous revolutions in sportswear, which will be on display in the exhibition “40 Years of Football History”. It will include authentic and legendary t-shirts from the brand, with stories about each of them and the legendary players who wore them, as well as photographs depicting the cultural revolution brought about by team sponsorship both inside and outside of stadiums.

A limited edition football shirt created by FOOTDISTRICT to commemorate the exhibition links Kappa’s legacy to its retail locations. The colour scheme is based gold from the Barcelona walls and on grey from the urban setting of the Madrid shop. The crest designed for the occasion, in which the two stars stand in for the shops, complements the outfit. The wording FOOTDISTRICT on the collar and a label designating it as a limited edition of 200 units serve as the final details.

The FOOTDISTRICT x Kappa collaboration will go on sale on 26 September 2019 on the occasion of the “40 years of football history” exhibition, which will first visit Madrid and, from 3 October, the FOOTDISTRICT shop in Barcelona.
